Strategy & Operations Associate

Role Summary

We’re seeking a Strategy & Operations Associate to work closely with our CEO and leadership team to strengthen the operational foundation of a fast-growing organization. As our first dedicated operations hire, you’ll play a critical role in translating strategic priorities into well-run processes.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, enjoys bringing structure to complexity, and is excited to help shape how a growing mission-driven organization operates. You’ll support core functions across people operations, finance, internal communications, and special projects - while developing a deep understanding of the business..

This role offers meaningful growth potential over time, including the opportunity to take on expanded strategic and leadership responsibilities in a Chief of Staff capacity as the organization scales.

Responsibilities

Under the direction of our CEO, you will:

Executive Support & Communication

• Strategically manage the CEO’s calendar and priorities to ensure time is aligned with the most important initiatives.
• Assist in developing client development presentations and other external-facing materials with a high standard of quality.
• Manage the company’s LinkedIn presence and newsletter, and support marketing efforts as needed to ensure consistent external communication.

People, Finance & Internal Operations

• Lead core People Operations processes, including seamless onboarding/offboarding, training schedules, system access, benefits updates, compliance documentation, and maintenance of employee handbooks, org charts, and internal directories.
• Support financial functions with vendor management, invoice processing, and budgeting inputs.
• Maintain and improve internal workflows and operational systems.
• Maintain accurate internal documentation to ensure leadership has timely access to essential resources and information.

Strategy, Planning, & Special Projects

• Lead and support special projects and cross-functional initiatives.
• Lead company culture-building initiatives, internal communications, and employee engagement efforts, including monthly full-team meetings and bi-annual in person events.
• Assist with strategic planning, research, and preparation for key internal and external engagements.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, business operations, or similarly rigorous, fast-paced roles where you supported complex projects and senior stakeholders.
• Exceptional organizational and project-management skills with the ability to manage complex workflows and competing priorities.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear, polished materials for internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a high degree of professionalism; ability to collaborate with diverse teams and clients.
• Demonstrated ability to work proactively, anticipate needs, and exercise sound judgement in a dynamic environment.
• Comfort learning new domains quickly and adapting to changing priorities in a growing organization.

Bonus Points For

• Proficiency with project management tools (we use Notion) and willingness to learn new systems
• Interest in civic-tech or public-interest data, or mission-driven work
